Hello, I’m Yuni

Founder, Wellbeing Program Designer, and Facilitator of ALCOVE

I create reflective wellbeing programs that give people time and space to pause, think, and reconnect with themselves and others.

My programs bring together gentle movement, writing, thoughtful questions, and structured conversation. I do not give people answers or tell them how they should feel. I guide a process that helps them notice what is already present and express it in their own words.

I created ALCOVE because I believe we often search for answers before giving ourselves enough time to understand the question.

When we feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or disconnected, it is easy to reach for more information, another opinion, or a quick solution. But we are rarely given the time or structure to sit with our own thoughts and ask what is really happening within us.

I wanted to create that time and structure.

ALCOVE makes room for people to step away from constant input, release some of the tension they are carrying, and reflect without pressure to arrive at an immediate answer.

It is not a place where someone else defines what you need. It is a space where you can begin to hear yourself more clearly.

Why I Created Alcove

What I do

my Approach

  • REFLECTIVE WRITING AND STORIES

I write personal essays, Mini Books, and reflective prompts exploring culture, identity, relationships, belonging, and everyday life.

  • COFFEE CHATS AND GATHERINGS

I create and facilitate small gatherings where people explore meaningful questions and connect through honest, unhurried conversation.

  • WELLBEING WORKSHOPS

I design and facilitate reflective wellbeing workshops for individuals, communities, teams, and organizations using gentle movement, writing, questions, and structured conversation.

  • MY ROLE AND SCOPE

I am a wellbeing program designer and facilitator, not a psychologist, counsellor, or therapist.

ALCOVE programs do not provide diagnosis, psychological treatment, or individual counselling. My role is to create a thoughtful structure, offer questions, guide the experience, and protect space for each participant to reflect in their own way.

When a topic requires clinical or psychological expertise, it should be addressed by—or developed in collaboration with—an appropriately qualified professional.

My work begins with a simple idea: reflection becomes possible when both the body and mind are given space.

GENTLE MOVEMENT

As a certified yoga and restorative yoga instructor, I use simple, accessible movement and breathing to help participants release physical tension and become more present.

WRITING AND QUESTIONS

Writing creates space between an experience and our immediate reaction to it. Thoughtful questions help participants explore what they think, feel, value, and need without being told what the answer should be.

MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION

Structured conversation allows people to speak without needing to present a polished version of themselves and to listen without rushing to judge, advise, or fix.

Together, these elements create a guided reflective experience rather than a class, lecture, or therapy session.

MY STORY

Writing was the beginning of ALCOVE.

I have written about travel, culture, identity, relationships, belonging, and the small moments that quietly reveal how we understand ourselves and others.

Living and traveling across different places and cultures taught me that people do not need to share the same background or way of life to understand one another. Sometimes a personal story, a sincere question, or an unhurried conversation is enough to open something meaningful.

I wanted my writing to live beyond the page—not only as something to read, but as a starting point for reflection and conversation. That desire became ALCOVE.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

I am a certified yoga instructor and certified restorative yoga instructor. I am also a writer, traveller, and marathon runner.

Yoga has taught me how the body can hold tension and how gentle movement can create room to breathe. Running has taught me patience and the value of moving at my own pace. Travel continues to remind me that there is more than one way to understand a life.

These experiences shape the way I create and facilitate ALCOVE programs: with curiosity, openness, and enough space for people to arrive as they are.
